OB ED Physician
About The Position
This is a Locum Tenens position for an OB ED Physician in St. Louis, MO. The role involves providing clinical coverage for a supplemental need within an inpatient setting. The physician will be responsible for evaluating patients who are pregnant up to 6 weeks post-partum, managing both low and high-risk pregnancies, interpreting fetal heart rates, performing and interpreting OB ultrasounds, assisting with routine and complicated deliveries, and repairing lacerations. Surgical gynecology procedures such as laparoscopic diagnostic/minor procedures, tubal ligation, LOA's, and chronal tubation are also part of the duties. The physician will work 24/7 with APP support for 18 hours a day and will be required to supervise APPs. The facility is a Level I Trauma Center with a Level I PEDS Level, featuring 12 beds and an available L&D department. The EMR system used is Epic. The coverage period is from August 1st ongoing, with an average patient volume of 40-60 patients per day.

- Active MO License or IMLC
- BC/BE
- BLS
- ACLS
Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients who are pregnant up to 6 weeks post partum
- Manage low & high-risk pregnancy
- Perform FHR interpretation - NST/CST/FSE
- Perform and interpret OB Ultrasounds - Level I/Screening (viability) & Level II/Targeted (anatomic)
- Perform Amniocentesis
- Assist with Routine & Complicated delivery
- Repair of 3rd & 4th degree lacerations
- Perform Surgical gynecology: Laparoscopic diagnostic/minor only - tubal ligation, LOA's, chronal tubation
- Provide physician coverage 24/7
- Supervise APPs
