About The Position

Detail-oriented Obstetrical Coordinator to manage obstetrical benefits, patient contracts, payments, appointments scheduling, EDC lists, and insurance payment audits for pregnancy services.

Requirements

  • High-school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience as an Obstetrical Coordinator or in a similar healthcare role
  • Proficiency in obstetrical benefits verification and insurance billing procedures
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Familiarity with medical billing software and EHR systems
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in Medical Billing and Coding is advantageous

Responsibilities

  • Verify obstetrical benefits and coverage for patients.
  • Generate patient contracts in adherence to insurance guidelines.
  • Assist patients in accessing financial aid programs and comprehending their insurance benefits.
  • Coordinate patient access to Centering, doula services, and other support resources.
  • Collect payments as outlined in insurance coverage, including co-pays and deductibles.
  • Schedule prenatal and postpartum appointments with patients.
  • Conduct audits on insurance payments associated with pregnancy services and address any billing discrepancies with insurance providers promptly.
  • Safeguard patient records for accuracy and confidentiality and ensure compliance with relevant regulations, such as HIPAA.
  • Provide essential assistance to the healthcare team.
  • Regularly, update Obstetrics Database with information on deliveries, transfer of care, miscarriages, changes to Expected Due Date (EDD), and provider changes.
  • Manage the referral process for specialty consultations, including scheduling, tracking, and confirming patient attendance.
  • Correspond with patients via letters and perform follow-up calls as needed.
  • Undertake additional job duties as required or assigned.
