OASAS Residential Counselor Assistant
About The Position
Counselor Assistants make a difference in recovery. You can be part of the difference that East House makes each day with individuals working through substance addiction and mental health recovery. East House helps thousands of clients and their families that are seeking residential and career support while in their recovery process both in residential programs and throughout the community. As a Counselor Assistant, you will be responsible for providing services that help guide clients to achieving their goals. This role partners with clients, East House staff and external providers to coordinate services. You will play an essential role as a Counselor Assistant in coaching and teaching within the scope of the programs service. The Counselor Assistant teaches, provides support and assists in the daily upkeep of the environment, assists clients with follow through with appointments and assists with treatment recommendations.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years experience in human services.
- Valid NYS motor vehicle license with a safe and clean driving record.
- Ability to use personal vehicle for work purposes.
Responsibilities
- Providing services that help guide clients to achieving their goals.
- Partnering with clients, East House staff and external providers to coordinate services.
- Coaching and teaching within the scope of the programs service.
- Teaching, providing support and assisting in the daily upkeep of the environment.
