About The Position

Participates in the operation, maintenance, and repair of water and wastewater treatment facilities. Monitors and operates wastewater treatment plant equipment, collects samples, runs tests, maintains records, and adjusts treatment processes as needed. Supports treatment processes, laboratory analyses, plant equipment maintenance, regulatory inspections, and response to accidental releases of hazardous liquids and gases. Confined-space entry may be required. The work includes routine equipment monitoring and recording information in a logbook and computer.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Ability to communicate professionally, orally and in writing, with team members, management, clients, and vendors.
Knowledge of safety procedures in maintenance and operations.
Ability to operate electric motors fueled by gasoline, diesel, or gaseous fuels, as well as paint, welding, fabrication equipment, and required hand tools.
Valid driver’s license.
Ability to perform the listed physical activities and meet the stated lifting and vision requirements.

Responsibilities

Monitor and operate wastewater treatment plant equipment, including pumps, valves, motors, blowers, and chemical feed equipment.
Adjust and repair wastewater treatment plant equipment.
Collect samples, run tests, and maintain records.
Adjust or alter chemical treatment of plant processes as required.
Participate in treatment processes, plant laboratory analyses, and the operation and maintenance of plant equipment.
Complete and maintain plant records and reports accurately and on time.
Assist regulatory representatives inspecting the plant.
Respond to and control accidental releases of hazardous liquids and gases.
Perform confined-space entries as required.
Observe pump and motor operation and routinely monitor equipment.
Maintain daily records by writing in a logbook and entering data into a computer.
