About The Position

We are looking for a Nylon Coater to join our Greenwood, IN facility on a 2nd shift schedule. You will coat parts with nylon using the fluidized bed application method. This role requires a total understanding of the coating process, manual dexterity for handling parts, and the ability to ensure correct oven and fluid bed settings and nylon color. Additionally, you will assist with shipping and receiving, including accurate counting and recording of information, priming parts through manual spraying, and visual inspection and segregation of parts. Responsibilities also include loading parts onto the conveyor belt, removing coated parts from cooling racks, stripping them from hangers, and cleaning rivet holes by drilling. A final visual inspection of the finished part is required before packing for shipment.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 1-3 months related experience and/or training
  • Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
  • Mathematical skills to manage units of measure, fractions, decimals, whole numbers

Responsibilities

  • Coat parts with nylon using the fluidized bed application method.
  • Pick parts from the conveyor belt with a hook, move them to the fluid bed box, dip them into the powdered nylon, and move them appropriately for the part geometry.
  • Place parts onto the cooling rack efficiently before they cool off.
  • Ensure the oven and fluid bed settings are correct and that the color of the nylon is correct.
  • Help with the shipping and receiving of parts into and out of the facility.
  • Count parts accurately and record information accurately.
  • Prime parts through manual spraying.
  • Visually differentiate and segregate parts.
  • Load parts onto the conveyor belt of the primary heating oven.
  • Remove coated parts from cooling racks, strip them from hangers/hooks, and return hangers/hooks to the coating area for re-use.
  • Remove nylon coating from rivet holes by drilling-out the holes on a drill press.
  • Perform visual inspection of finished parts prior to packing for shipment.
