About The Position

Regional West Medical Center is seeking a Nutrition Support Coordinator / Dietary Coordinator to support the delivery of high‑quality clinical nutrition services across the hospital. Working under the direction of Registered Dietitians, this role assists with nutrition assessments, care planning, patient education, and interdisciplinary collaboration to improve patient outcomes. This position is an integral member of the clinical dietetics team and plays a key role in providing patient‑centered, evidence‑based nutrition care in alignment with physician orders and organizational standards. Will work rotating weekends and holidays. Education Completion of a two‑year program approved by the American Dietetic Association as a Dietetic Technician OR Graduate of a Foodservice Manager Training Program OR Associate or bachelor’s degree in foodservice management, nutrition, or a related field Licensure / Certification Licensed as a Medical Nutrition Therapist in the State of Nebraska OR Successful completion of the CDM Credentialing Exam with active CDM, CFPP certification

Requirements

  • Completion of a two‑year program approved by the American Dietetic Association as a Dietetic Technician OR
  • Graduate of a Foodservice Manager Training Program OR
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in foodservice management, nutrition, or a related field
  • Licensed as a Medical Nutrition Therapist in the State of Nebraska OR
  • Successful completion of the CDM Credentialing Exam with active CDM, CFPP certification
  • A conditional job offer is contingent upon successfully passing a pre-employment drug test and background checks.
  • A Physical Capacity Profile may be required for some positions.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and support the nutrition plan of care for assigned patients under the direction of a Registered Dietitian and/or physician
  • Gather and document data for initial and ongoing nutrition assessments
  • Interview patients to determine dietary needs, calculate nutrition intake, and assist in developing appropriate nutrition plans
  • Collaborate with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to support optimal nutritional status
  • Monitor, review, and document patient progress related to nutrition interventions
  • Assist with patient and family nutrition education and discharge planning
  • Utilize evidence‑based educational materials and standardized nutrition care practices
  • Support quality improvement, performance improvement, and audit activities
  • Assist with orientation and education of staff and students as needed
  • Represent Nutrition Services and Regional West Medical Center professionally in clinical and community settings
  • Support Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) duties as assigned
