Nutrition Services Assistant - Retail Operations
About The Position
The Nutrition Services Nutrition Assistant works primarily in the Retail Food Service Operation. They will assist in setup and serving of food from counters and steamtables. Providing fast, friendly, professional, and responsive customer service at all times to all dining guests. The general responsibilities of the position include those listed below under essential functions, but other responsibilities may be required. These responsibilities may fluctuate depending on business necessities and client requirements. Supervised by Department Supervisor, Retail Manager, Assistant Director, Chief Clinical Dietitian, and Director.
Requirements
- Must be able to read the menus and instructional materials relating to job.
- Must be competent in use of all equipment used in Retail areas.
- Demonstrates the ability to use and clean all necessary food service equipment.
Nice To Haves
- High School diploma or GED preferred.
- May be asked to take a class and exam for the Health Department Sanitation Certification - ServSafe.
Responsibilities
- Assist in setup and serving of food from counters and steamtables.
- Provide fast, friendly, professional, and responsive customer service at all times to all dining guests.
- Interact with customers in all areas of the operation.
- Operate a cash register (or equivalent), receive payments of cash and/or charges from customers and employees, make change and issue receipts to customers.
- Understand and follow cash-handling policies and procedures.
- Maintain proper security of cash at all times.
