About The Position

Johnson Memorial Health is seeking a PRN Nutrition Services Aide to join their team. This role involves transporting food and supplies, assisting with patient meal assembly and delivery, stocking and maintaining unit pantries, and performing dishwashing duties. The aide will also be responsible for cleaning production areas, reporting safety hazards, and assisting with basic production and cafeteria duties. Adherence to sanitation standards, participation in quality improvement activities, and compliance with all applicable laws and policies are essential. The position requires the ability to read and write, and no prior experience is necessary as on-the-job training is provided.

Requirements

Less than high school education.
No experience necessary.

Responsibilities

Transports food and supplies from the Nutrition Services Main Production Area to patient service areas throughout the hospital.
Participates in patient meal assembly and delivery of meals directly to patients as assigned, in a professional and efficient manner.
Inventories and stocks unit-based pantries.
Accurately maintains records of pantry stock items.
Follows established procedures for cleaning, labeling, rotating, and documenting pantry stock items.
Washes dishes, glassware, flatware, pots and pans, both manually and using automated machine.
Places clean dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment in proper storage areas.
Gathers trash from Nutrition Production area and places in designated pickup areas.
Cleans garbage cans, sweeps floors, and performs both heavy and light cleaning of Nutrition Production equipment, food service production and retail cafeteria areas.
Reports any safety hazards or equipment not functioning properly to Shift Supervisor.
Assists in basic production duties, as well as cafeteria food serving and/or cleaning.
Adheres to HACCP and ISDH sanitation standards.
Participates in and promotes CQI (Continuous Quality Improvement) activities.
Performs other duties as required.

Conducts all activities in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, standards, and Johnson Memorial Health policies and procedures including Blood and Body Substance Precautions.
