About The Position

Johnson Memorial Health is seeking a PRN Nutrition Services Aide to join their team. This role involves transporting food and supplies, assembling and delivering patient meals, stocking and maintaining unit pantries, and performing dishwashing and cleaning duties. The aide will also assist with basic food production, cafeteria serving, and adhere to sanitation standards. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and safe operation of the Nutrition Services department.

Requirements

Must be able to read and write.
Less than high school education.
No experience necessary.
90 day “on the job” training provided.

Responsibilities

Transports food and supplies from the Nutrition Services Main Production Area to patient service areas.
Participates in patient meal assembly and delivery of meals directly to patients.
Inventories and stocks unit-based pantries, maintaining accurate records.
Follows established procedures for cleaning, labeling, rotating, and documenting pantry stock items.
Washes dishes, glassware, flatware, pots and pans, manually and using automated machines.
Places clean dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment in proper storage areas.
Gathers trash from Nutrition Production area and places in designated pickup areas.
Cleans garbage cans, sweeps floors, and performs cleaning of Nutrition Production equipment, food service production, and retail cafeteria areas.
Reports any safety hazards or equipment malfunctions to the Shift Supervisor.
Assists in basic production duties, cafeteria food serving, and/or cleaning.
Adheres to HACCP and ISDH sanitation standards.
Participates in and promotes Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities.
Performs other duties as required.
Communicates and supports the Mission and Values of Johnson Memorial Health.
Conducts all activities in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, standards, and Johnson Memorial Health policies and procedures, including Blood and Body Substance Precautions.
