About The Position

Fairview is looking for a Nutrition Services Aide to join our team at our St. John's Hospital in Maplewood, MN. The Nutrition Services Aide role is to prepare food according to guidelines, stock supplies, provide service to all customers and/or perform tasks that relate to food preparation, sanitation, and service.

Requirements

  • Ability to prepare food according to guidelines.
  • Ability to stock supplies.
  • Ability to provide service to customers.
  • Ability to perform tasks related to food preparation, sanitation, and service.
  • Ability to follow standardized recipes and proper techniques.
  • Ability to cover, label, date, and rotate food prior to storing.
  • Ability to wash dishes and/or pots and pans according to established procedures.
  • Ability to practice proper infection control methods including handwashing, personal hygiene, and infection control policies.
  • Ability to perform tasks on trayline during the assembly of patient trays.
  • Ability to deliver trays to patients and collect trays after meal service.
  • Ability to deliver floor stock and/or nourishments to patients and nursing unit.
  • Ability to perform cafeteria and/or coffee shop duties including plating, portion control, and cashiering.
  • Ability to maintain knowledge of and comply with all relevant laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Ability to actively participate in creating and implementing improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares food in an efficient, safe, and timely manner according to department service times and schedules, using standardized recipes and following proper techniques.
  • Covers, labels, dates, and rotates all food prior to storing to ensure department and regulatory agency standards are met.
  • Washes dishes and/or pots and pans according to established procedures and time frames.
  • Practices proper infection control methods including handwashing, personal hygiene, and infection control policies.
  • Performs a specific task on trayline during the assembly of patient trays.
  • Delivers trays to patients, collects trays after meal service.
  • Delivers floor stock and/or nourishments to patients and nursing unit.
  • Performs a variety of cafeteria and/or coffee shop duties which may include plating, using portion control and cashiering operation.
  • Maintains knowledge of, and complies with, all relevant laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Actively participates in creating and implementing improvements.
