About The Position

Wilson Health is seeking a friendly, compassionate, and customer-focused Nutrition Host/Hostess to join our Dietary Services team. In this role, you will provide exceptional service to patients by assisting with meal selections, ensuring physician-ordered diets are followed, and delivering meals with a positive, caring attitude. As an important member of the patient care team, you will help create a positive dining experience while supporting each patient's nutritional needs.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous customer service, hospitality, food service, or healthcare experience is preferred but not required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to provide compassionate, patient-centered service.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 25 pounds throughout the workday.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Visit patients daily to obtain meal selections and assist with menu choices according to physician-ordered diets.
• Review diet orders to ensure meals meet nutritional and dietary requirements.
• Communicate effectively with patients, nursing staff, and the Nutrition Services team regarding meal preferences and special dietary requests.
• Deliver and retrieve meal trays in a timely, courteous, and professional manner.
• Verify patient identification before meal delivery.
• Promote excellent patient satisfaction by responding promptly and professionally to patient requests and concerns.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient meal selections and diet changes.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, infection prevention, and departmental policies and procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas and assist with stocking supplies.
• Work collaboratively with Nutrition Services staff to provide efficient, high-quality patient care.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
