The Nutrition Coordinator position is a full-time role within the Patient Food Service team at Baptist Medical Center South in Jacksonville, FL. This role is integral to patient safety and satisfaction, ensuring accurate meal delivery at the correct time and temperature. Responsibilities include assisting patients with menu selections, managing dietary restrictions, assembling and delivering meals, and collaborating with nursing and culinary teams to address patient needs and preferences. The position also involves managing tray tickets, communicating patient concerns, and contributing to quality care improvements within a multidisciplinary team.
Requirements

Responsibilities
- Assist patients in understanding their menu selections and work with nursing to ensure their orders comply with their nutritional requirements or restrictions.
- Obtain preferences and modify tray identifiers accordingly.
- Support and promote patient satisfaction and participate with a multidisciplinary team to improve quality care/services to patients.
- Work with caregivers and the culinary team to determine menu alternatives for patients with food allergies and sensitivities, cultural, ethnic, and religious preferences, or when a patient inquiry about additional selections.
- Manage tray tickets and assemble meals according to each patient’s menu selection in a timely and accurate manner.
- Deliver and retrieve trays from patient rooms at assigned times.
- Communicate problems or concerns with patients to appropriate personnel in a timely manner, following department procedures.
- Performs other duties assigned.
