About The Position

SAIC is seeking a Nutrition and Dietary Consultant to support the First Army Mobilization Assistance Team Holistic Soldier Readiness (HSR) Program. This role promotes the health, performance, and readiness of Soldiers through personalized nutrition counseling, education on fueling and hydration strategies, and optimizing food options in dining facilities and field settings. The consultant will use data to create effective, evidence-based nutrition plans and educate Soldiers about safe supplement use.

Requirements

  • Support the First Army Mobilization Assistance Team Holistic Soldier Readiness (HSR) Program

  • Use data to create effective, evidence-based nutrition plans
  • Educate Soldiers about safe supplement use
  • Provide tailored nutrition counseling for Soldiers regarding performance, weight management (Army Body Composition Program), disordered eating, and special dietary needs.
  • Educate Soldiers on proper fueling and hydration for training, combat operations, and recovery to enhance performance on the Army Combat Fitness Test (ACFT).
  • Collaborate with unit and installation food service teams to optimize dining facility (DEFAC) menus, improve food, beverage, and product choices, and develop field feeding plans.
  • Work with Army leaders, Strength and Conditioning Coaches, Athletic Trainers, and Occupational Therapists to implement the H2F program and coordinate care for injured Soldiers.
  • Utilize relevant data to identify nutritional concerns and implement evidence-based strategies to drive behavior change in Soldiers.
  • Collect outcome data to assess nutrition programming effectiveness, identifying areas for improvement, and monitor long-term impacts on unit readiness.
  • Guide soldiers in navigating the supplement market, including education on unsafe or prohibited products.
