About The Position

The Nutrition Services Aide's primary role is to assist in the delivery of Nutrition Services. This involves tasks such as preparing and serving food, setting up tables and trays, cleaning dishes and equipment, general cleaning duties, and delivering soiled linen to the laundry department. The position also ensures sanitation and quality standards are maintained, prepares beverages, delivers nourishments, and handles tray tickets. Additionally, the aide is responsible for identifying and correcting safety hazards, maintaining cleanliness of various areas, and adhering to company policies on abuse prevention and patient safety.

Requirements

• Current state Food Handler Certificate.
• Ability to read, write, and speak the English language.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in food service and using food service equipment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Aid in the delivery of Nutrition Services.
• Prepare and/or serve food items.
• Prepare tables and trays.
• Wash tableware and cooking items.
• Perform general cleaning tasks.
• Deliver soiled linen to the laundry department.
• Assure that sanitation and quality standards are met.
• Wash and sanitize dishes, pots, tableware, and utensils.
• Clean and sanitize equipment as assigned.
• Complete Logs as assigned.
• Prepare dining room tables and patient room trays.
• Perform various food preparation tasks and assist in apportioning servings.
• Prepare and serve beverages.
• Perform other cleaning tasks according to established schedules.
• Prepare and/or deliver nourishment and supplements.
• Maintain tray tickets.
• Deliver soiled linens to laundry.
• Identify and correct safety hazards.
• Fill orders for between-meal nourishments.
• Wrap flatware in napkins.
• Clear and wipe dining tables and trayline following meals.
• Maintain daily care of dishwashing, pot/pan, lavatory, and hand sinks, worktables, dish storage areas.
• Empty trash cans per shift and clean as assigned.
• Perform floor care by sweeping and/or mopping.
• Enforce Cantex Continuing Care Network Policy and Procedures for Abuse Prevention.
• Comply with Patient Care Management Systems.
• Assure patient/resident safety.
• Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.
