About The Position
The Nutrition Services Aide position aids in the delivery of Nutrition Services. This role involves preparing and serving food items, setting up tables and trays, washing dishes and cooking equipment, performing general cleaning tasks, and delivering soiled linen to the laundry department. The position also ensures sanitation and quality standards are met, maintains tray tickets, and handles between-meal nourishments. The aide is responsible for identifying and correcting safety hazards, complying with patient care management systems, and ensuring patient/resident safety.
Requirements
- Current state Food Handler Certificate.
- Ability to read, write, and speak the English language.

- Experience in food service and using food service equipment is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Aid in the delivery of Nutrition Services.
- Prepare and/or serve food items.
- Prepare tables and trays with proper tableware, condiments, and tray tickets.
- Wash and sanitize dishes, pots, tableware, and utensils.
- Clean and sanitize equipment as assigned.
- Perform various food preparation tasks and assist in apportioning servings.
- Prepare and serve beverages for trayline and dining rooms.
- Perform other cleaning tasks according to established schedules.
- Prepare and/or deliver nourishment and supplements identified with patient labels.
- Maintain tray tickets, making changes as directed or necessary.
- Deliver soiled linens to the laundry.
- Identify and correct safety hazards.
- Fill orders for between-meal nourishments as assigned.
- Wrap flatware in napkins, as applicable.
- Clear and wipe dining tables and trayline following meals.
- Maintain daily care of dishwashing, pot/pan, lavatory, and hand sinks, worktables, and dish storage areas.
- Empty trash cans per shift and clean as assigned.
- Perform floor care by sweeping and/or mopping.
- Ensure compliance with Patient Care Management Systems.
- Assure patient/resident safety.
- Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.
