About The Position

Nuton Strategy Manager (Rio Tinto Services Inc., South Jordan, UT): Support the Chief Executive Office to design and execute an overall strategy for Nuton, from vision/mission, framework, and business strategy, consistent with Rio Tinto’s Copper Group strategy. Design and execute key strategic initiatives to support the Chief Executive Office in developing and implementing the business plan. This requires a holistic understanding of the business, the technology, and the stakeholders involved to achieve the best outcomes. Facilitate cross-functional collaboration, securing internal approvals and supporting the construction of a technology deployment portfolio. Coordinate global teams, identifying and leading pipeline management improvements, target evaluations, and technology deployment strategies. Develop and manage Rio Tinto’s internal stakeholder map, building trust and cultivating high-level relationships to strengthen senior stakeholder engagement. Lead Nuton’s corporate relations strategy, proactively engaging with trade associations across the US, Canada, Peru, and Chile, as well as government officials and authorities in project locations. Spearhead and execute a comprehensive communication and branding strategy, successfully positioning Nuton as a leader in leaching technologies. Develop and implement a communication strategy based on previous work done at Nuton’s early stage. Direct and streamline the annual planning process, ensuring strategic alignment and operational efficiency. Ensure world-class engagement, supporting Nuton CEO to look for potential sites to deploy the technology, especially in South America. This requires the management of specific mining and business knowledge on South American countries. Specific knowledge of South American cultural codes and providing a strategy on cultural match with Rio Tinto will be essential. Elaborate Nuton project’s second stage of editorial guidelines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Sociology, Communications, Journalism, Media Studies, or a related field
  • 10 years of post-baccalaureate related work experience
  • 5 years of experience in Mining industry experience, with an understanding of the mining sector in Latin America
  • 5 years of experience in Communication strategies and media
  • 5 years of experience in Mining production process
  • 5 years of experience in Change Management
  • 5 years of experience in Stakeholders Management
  • 4 years of experience in bio-heap leach technology

Nice To Haves

  • Specific knowledge of South American cultural codes and providing a strategy on cultural match with Rio Tinto will be essential.
