About The Position

MedVet is a rapidly expanding Emergency and Specialty veterinary provider with locations across the nation, dedicated to delivering advanced medical treatments and innovative solutions. These include services such as chemotherapy, radiation therapy, cardiac ablations, glaucoma treatments, physical rehabilitation, and dermatology. The Nursing Clinical Supervisor role is integral to the Nursing department, which demands constant patient supervision to ensure the effective execution of treatment plans. This position is ideal for someone adept at identifying and responding to patient distress, proficient in phlebotomy, IV catheter placement, assisting with patient recovery, and providing client follow-up and education.

Requirements

  • Prior veterinary experience required
  • Proficient in calculations (drugs, constant rate infusions, unit conversions, etc.)
  • Flexibility with work hours and able to work additional hours when necessary
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Escalates issues to Clinical Manager
  • Functions as a scheduled Clinical Services team member within department(s)
  • Collaborates with other departments regarding patient and client needs
  • Prioritizes and organizes workflows for shift
  • Directly manages Clinical Services team members while on shift which includes but is not limited to: Manages early call-ins, early departures, call-offs, sharing of resources, breaks and lunches for team members
  • Assigns team member responsibilities per shift
  • Addresses process or employee issues during their shift
  • Communicates schedule changes, performance concerns and shift issues to the Clinical Manager routinely
  • Serves as first level responder to client concerns and drug escalations
  • Trains and mentors new team members
  • Provides input to Clinical Manager on team member performance evaluations
  • Participates in on-call responsibilities
  • Participates in management or administrative meeting(s) routinely
