About The Position

UW Medicine has outstanding opportunities for Nurse Technicians at our UW Medical Center-Montlake & UW Medical Center-Northwest locations. Clinical areas requesting Nurse Techs could include med-surg, oncology, neurology, behavioral health, surgical, Emergency Department and ICU. If you are offered a position, there is a required initial two session class orientation. Day One (October 22nd, 2026): New Employee Orientation - 2:30pm-7:00pm In-Person. Day Two: Specialized Nurse Tech EPIC training & access - 3pm-6pm Virtual.

Requirements

  • Must be currently enrollment in a Washington State Board of Nursing approved Nursing Education Program and have at least 6 months to work prior to graduation.
  • Must have completed at least one clinical rotation by the start of Orientation.
  • BLS certification, resume, one clinical evaluation, and completed school Skills Checklist are required.
  • Be available to work a minimum of 1 day per week (some units require more).

Responsibilities

  • Work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse to assist in providing direct care, collect and document data gathered during the delivery of care and communicate findings and changes in patient condition to the supervising RN.
  • Collaborate with the other disciplines as appropriate to provide continuity of patient care from admission to discharge.
  • Perform a variety of tasks including transporting patients, supplies and specimens; ordering and stocking supplies; and ensuring patient safety through monitoring and assessment, safe patient mobilization and hygiene activities.
