About The Position

The Nursing Team Leader position at CVHS in Petersburg, VA is a full-time role in a high-volume, team-oriented practice. This role involves performing patient care tasks across all age groups, managing medical supplies, assisting with clinical support staff recruitment and orientation, and providing leadership and guidance to the clinical team. The Team Leader ensures care adheres to professional and company standards, maintains a safe environment, promotes staff development, and participates in quality improvement activities. They also assist in patient flow and may handle emergency situations until a supervisor or MD arrives, and are responsible for coordinating triage orientation and program development. • At least 2 years of general patient care experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse

Nice To Haves

• Experience in emergency room and community nursing preferred
• Current CPR certification, preferred
• Experience in telephone triage, preferred

Responsibilities

• Performs tasks pertinent to age of patient (infancy to geriatric)
• Maintains accurate inventory of medical supplies and orders supplies as necessary
• Manages all treatment and care related resources in an effective and cost efficient manner
• Works with the practice leaders in clinical support staff recruitment
• Manages orientation of new clinical support staff
• Provides leadership, guidance and support for clinical support staff members
• Ensures care is provided to patients in accordance with the appropriate professional and company standards
• Provides a safe environment for patients, visitors and other staff
• Maximizes the education and development of staff and self; this may be in conjunction with a nursing supervisor and/or other practice leaders
• Promotes, monitors and participates in all quality improvement activities
• Assists in the efficient flow of patients
• May assume responsibility for ER situations until supervisor or MD arrives
• Ensures coordination of triage orientation and triage program development
• Attends work as scheduled
• Performs related duties as assigned
• Supports a team-based approach to patient-centered medical care
