About The Position
The Nursing Supervisor is responsible for the supervision and coordination of patient care for the nursing units. This role involves problem-solving, ensuring adequate staffing, monitoring work performance and providing feedback, interpreting and enforcing hospital policies. The Nursing Supervisor may also assume responsibility for nursing administrative decisions in the absence of the Chief Nursing Officer and performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
Requirements
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state where the hospital resides.
- Current BLS and ACLS certification is required.
- A minimum of 2 years medical-surgical nursing or equivalent required.
Nice To Haves
- BSN preferred, but not required.
- Long Term Acute Care or rehabilitation nursing and/or management level experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Supervision and coordination of patient care for the nursing units.
- Problem solving.
- Providing adequate staffing.
- Monitoring work performance and providing appropriate feedback to employees regarding work performance and behavior.
- Interpreting, implementing and enforcing hospital policy.
- Assuming responsibility for nursing administrative decisions in the absence of the Chief Nursing Officer, if applicable.
- Performing other related duties as assigned or requested.
