About The Position

The Nursing Supervisor is responsible for providing operational and supervisory support to the nursing staff in assigned regions and ensure compliance with all policies, protocols, and regulatory standards. This role involves developing and maintaining the nursing schedule, ensuring adequate nursing coverage, and managing medication supplies. The position also includes patient education on medication-assisted treatment, verifying medication orders, and assisting with the admission process and documentation of substance use disorder diagnoses.

Requirements

  • Must have a valid Massachusetts Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Must have a current CPR certificate or obtain certificate within 90 days of hire.
  • Must display the use of appropriate independent judgment to determine appropriate course of action in resolving problems and in emergencies.
  • Must have proficient computer skills including Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.

Nice To Haves

  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Experience in substance abuse/related field or acute care inpatient healthcare environment and supervisory experience highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Providing operational and supervisory support to the nursing staff in assigned regions and ensure compliance with all policies, protocols, and regulatory standards.
  • Developing and maintain the nursing schedule at the assigned regions, ensuring adequate nursing coverage at all times.
  • Ensuring an adequate supply of medication is maintained at the assigned sites. This includes maintaining an adequate supply of 222 forms, when ordering when necessary to prevent delays in receiving medication.
  • Participating in on call nursing rotation.
  • The control, counting and appropriate documentation of onsite medication.
  • Educates patients on use, purpose, side-effects, and other information relating to medication-assisted treatment.
  • Verifying medication orders with the qualified addiction specialist and transcribes the orders.
  • Assisting in the admission process and documents substance use disorder diagnosis as required.
