About The Position

The Nursing Supervisor provides administrative direction, supervision, and management of the nursing services to ensure quality patient care and treatment. Provides treatment to patients within the scope of their license assisting physicians and nurse practitioners with patient care. Supervises daily clinical activities and operations for University Medical Center Clinics located in Livingston, AL and Demopolis, AL. Provides direct patient care to the highest degree of licensure. Under the leadership and oversight of the Assistant Director of UMC Nursing Services and Chief Nursing Officer, manages daily clinic operations. Collaborates with clinic medical directors to manage care provided in the clinics. Facilitates support for providers - physicians and nurse practitioners, to support patient-centered medical home model for the delivery of quality healthcare. Maintains strict confidentiality of protected health information and follows HIPAA regulations at all times. Supervises clinic staff - nurses, medical assistants, scribes, etc., and assists with establishment and enforcement of policies and procedures. Provides daily guidance and training to build an efficient and effective clinical team, and promotes a strong culture of integrity and responsibility. Manages staff schedules, facilitates staff onboarding, training, and periodic performance evaluations. Partners with clinic medical directors and providers to ensure academic and clinical experience for medical students, residents, and other learners prepares them for success in post-education endeavors. Provides excellent service and performs job duties/responsibilities consistent with UA’s values and principles.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and four (4) years of LPN or RN experience to include one (1) year of supervisory experience; OR associate's degree and six (6) years of LPN or RN experience to include one (1) year of supervisory experience
  • Final candidates must submit to and successfully pass a post-offer drug screen.
  • Ability to perform patient care as directed by a physician, nurse practitioner, or other qualified medical professional.
  • Knowledge/experience with electronic health record systems.
  • Efficient and accurate computer and data entry skills.
  • Excellent communication, public relations and customer service and telephone etiquette skills.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Desire to exemplify the core values and mission of the organization, always exercising utmost discretion, diplomacy, and tact in patient/staff interactions.
  • Willingness to learn and consistently deliver patient-centered, high-quality customer service.
  • Punctual and reliable, ability to work extended hours as needed during busier clinic times.
