This includes resident care, record-keeping, and assisting in managing nursing staff assigned to a particular shift. The position also involves taking action regarding the provision of resources within the context of shifts or designated time frames, and assigning residents to available nursing staff based on resident condition and employee skill level. The role requires monitoring resident care areas for cleanliness and readiness, and may involve filling in for clinical support staff or acting as a point of contact for technical training and troubleshooting. The supervisor is responsible for ensuring staff utilize the nursing process for individualized care, collaborating with inter-professional colleagues, and managing personal care, medication administration, care planning, and coordinating with various external services to meet client needs. Additionally, the role supports human resources administrative processing, budget information collection, and new staff training and orientation. Knowledge of clinical practices, strategic planning, administrative and financial principles, strong interpersonal and communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and emergency response are essential. The position also requires knowledge of safety hazards and precautions, participation in performance improvement initiatives, and adherence to the Nurse Practice Act and professional nursing standards.
