Requirements
- Current unencumbered RN license
- CPR certification
- Five years experience in long-term care facility
- Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills are essential
- Knowledge and experience related to the physical, mental and emotional needs of the elderly
- Knowledge of the laws, regulations and guidelines that pertain to long-term care
- Knowledge of current nursing techniques, federal and state nursing home regulations, and experience in regulatory surveys, resident assessments and recertification
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and other computer skills
Nice To Haves
- One year supervisory experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the direct supervision of nursing care
- Assures that residents receive the care that has been identified to meet their healthcare needs
- Ensures that policies and procedures of the nursing department are followed by nursing staff
- Person in charge of the entire facility in the absence of senior management staff
