About The Position

EPIC Rehabilitation and Nursing at White Plains is a 160-bed facility that represents the future of healthcare, boasting cutting-edge technology, modern furnishings, and a state-of-the-art therapy department. The RN Supervisor is responsible for the operation of the nursing department and facility, organizing and maintaining staffing guidelines to meet resident needs. This role involves overseeing unit activities and staff assignments, demonstrating clinical expertise, and responding appropriately to patient needs. The supervisor will monitor and document patient vital signs and responses, administer medications and treatments, and communicate with team members, residents, families, and medical staff. They will also identify and follow disciplinary actions, collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, perform RN assessments, lead emergency situations, and maintain accurate nursing reports and staffing records.

Requirements

  • Must be a graduate of an approved school of nursing.
  • Must have current registration in New York State as a Registered Nurse, RN
  • Must have a sincere desire to work with the elderly, chronically ill, and handicapped.
  • Must have a thorough knowledge of medical, social, and psychological needs of residents.
  • Must utilize good judgment in emergency situations.
  • Must be able to prioritize, make adjustments with interruptions, and communicate effectively.
  • Proficient in Computers/Microsoft Office.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience with geriatric/short term rehabilitation/Alzheimer’s patients is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Organizes, oversees, & supervises assigned unit activities & staff assignments & demonstrates clinical expertise which is consistent with the established standards of Nursing Practice
  • Identifies & responds, appropriately & timely, to patient needs
  • Monitors, observes, & documents vital signs, treatments administered, & patient responses.
  • Administers medications & treatments as needed
  • Communicates and directs services ongoing or any plan/concerns/information to appropriate team members, resident, family, or medical staff as needed
  • Identifies & follows disciplinary action as stated in policy
  • Collaborates with interdisciplinary team, physicians, & other vendors’/services
  • Performs RN assessment to resident’s post incidents or change in condition.
  • Leads & directs emergency situations – (Fire alarm, Elopement, etc.)
  • Maintains accurate nursing report, staffing sheets, & census roster
