About The Position
Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Sunnyvale is seeking an EMERGENCY ROOM NURSING SUPERVISOR responsible for providing leadership to the front-line staff in collaboration with the Nursing Manager or Nursing Director. This role serves as a conduit between front-line nursing employees and managers to facilitate communication, oversee the orientation of new team members in collaboration with Clinical Educators, and evaluate clinical practice with a focus on quality and performance improvement. Baylor Scott & White Medical Center-Sunnyvale is a community-based hospital with urban medical center benefits due to its specialties. It has a large footprint of outpatient services including physical medicine, wound care, sleep center, imaging, and two free-standing Emergency Departments, serving communities like Forney, Mesquite, Sunnyvale, and Seagoville.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (BSN preferred)
- Current Texas RN license
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS or ENPC certifications
- CPI certification required
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Basic computer proficiency
Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop ER nursing staff
- Manage day-to-day operations, staffing, and workflow coordination
- Support hiring, onboarding, scheduling, and performance evaluations
- Monitor quality metrics and drive performance improvement
- Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and infection prevention standards
- Provide clinical support as needed (charge or direct care)
- Foster a team-oriented environment focused on patient care, safety, and experience
- Conduct rounding, provide feedback, and support staff engagement and retention
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
