Communicates with RN preceptor, as appropriate, about changes in patient’s clinical condition including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Participates in the department's performance improvement and continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities.

Requirements

Currently enrolled in an accredited School of Nursing.
Has completed the fundamentals course (and verified proof) in nursing school & Certified as a C.N.A., EMT or Paramedic required.
Current BLS certification.

Responsibilities

Ability to perform a head-to-toe assessment on all patients and reassessments as per policy. This includes: pediatric, geriatric and the general patient population.
Ability to adequately assess and reassess pain. Utilizes appropriate pain management techniques. Reports to RN preceptor regarding patient pain assessment. Educates the patient and family regarding pain management
Demonstrates supportive behaviors necessary for performing bedside report using IMAP & SBAR (both accomplished in partnership with patient inside room).
Performs patient care responsibilities considering needs specific to the standard of care for patient’s age.
