About The Position

Fairview is looking for a Nursing Station Technician at Southdale Hospital the M Health Fairview Southdale in Edina, MN! This position is 56 hours every two weeks on the Evening shift, for 8 hour shifts, and every other weekend, and is eligible for benefits such as medical, dental, and more. Requirements

  • Basic Life Support (BLS for Healthcare Providers) certification required. Ontrack participants much be able to obtain Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification upon completion of the OnTrack program.
  • Successful completion of Fairview’s OnTrack Nursing Assistant training program or another Fairview sponsored Nursing Assistant program.
  • Six months of recent direct care experience in a long term, home care or acute care setting. (Appropriate roles may include, Nursing Assistant, PCA, Resident Assistant or Emergency Room Technician)
  • Current enrollment in an LPN, RN or Nurse Practitioner program, and completion of one (1) semester of clinical rotation within the program.
  • Current certification on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry upon hire. This requirement does not need to be maintained throughout employment and is not required if subsequently transferring into another Nursing Assistant or Nursing Station Tech or Nursing Station Attendant position.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting the professional caregiver in the delivery of patient care
  • Transporting patient and / or equipment
  • Setting up and maintaining patient rooms
  • Reordering, and stocking supplies
  • Performing a wide range of clerical, transcription, and maintenance of patient care unit desk area functions
  • Coordinating the flow of communication on a patient care unit
  • Patient care such as personal hygiene, vitals, daily activities, repositioning, transporting, and feeding
  • Maintaining unit desk area functions such as answering phones, processing admissions, discharging and transferring forms, transcribing orders, assembling patient charts and ordering tests
  • Setting up and maintaining patient rooms
  • Ordering and stocking of supplies
  • Performs other tasks as needed
