Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience in staffing or scheduling within a hospital setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Managing the nursing schedule to ensure exceptional patient care.
  • Performing various clerical duties.
  • Identifying improvements in the effectiveness of nursing department staffing.
  • Assisting and advising supervisors of any problems with the nursing schedule.
  • Ensuring employee/contract/student files comply with Joint Commission and regulatory standards.
  • Providing scheduling of educational opportunities to nursing staff.
  • Scheduling, coordinating, and informing nursing staff of their assigned schedule under CNO supervision.
  • Distributing the nursing schedule in a timely manner.
  • Advising supervisors of staffing ratio problems.
  • Drafting professional and appropriate letters, emails, reports, and presentations.
  • Maintaining confidentiality of employee personal and financial data.
  • Serving as a resource to the HR Director, department managers, and other employees.
  • Filing of new hire documents.
  • Preparing documents for new hire orientation.
  • Assisting with new hire orientations of both employees and contractors.
  • Assisting with special HR projects, serving as project coordinator as needed.
  • Assisting with employee health tracking, including but not limited to annual CPR training and TB testing.
  • Maintaining confidentiality of employee data such as financial and other personal information obtained during the process of scheduling and payroll preparation.
