About The Position

Accountable for the 24-hour functioning and the overall quality of patient care delivered in the area of responsibility. Directs the development and evaluation of nursing staff and departmental associates. An active participant in budget development, selection of nursing staff, and coaching and counseling of associates. Actively supports organizational objectives. Facilitates implementation of service management philosophy. Represents nursing in interdisciplinary hospital committees. Collects, records, and analyzes data through quality improvement process and implements indicated changes. Represents associate interests to administration and communicates knowledge of strategic planning, organizational innovation, and feedback related to hospital performance to departmental staff. Functions as a shift supervisor as needed.

Requirements

  • Current Arkansas licensure as a registered nurse.
  • Two to five years of clinical experience with expertise in clinical area.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to practice nursing as described by the definition: "The diagnosis and treatment of human responses to actual or potential health alterations."
  • Ability to utilize the nursing process in the provision of nursing care.
  • Awareness of legal and regulatory guidelines applicable to clinical area.
  • Basic skill in management of human resources, staffing, and budget functions.
  • Must meet the minimal requirements of RN job description.

Nice To Haves

  • A baccalaureate degree in nursing desirable.
  • Certification in specialty desirable.
