About The Position

Find your purpose by becoming a Nursing Service Tech in the Float Pool at Rice Memorial Hospital! This role involves performing routine treatment procedures as directed, assisting Staff Nurses in complicated treatment procedures, and maintaining traction supplies. The Nursing Service Tech will also complete equipment setup, report any observed changes in patient condition or behavior, and communicate patient complaints of pain to the appropriate staff. Additionally, this position assists with patient admissions, transfers, discharges, and provides personal care such as baths and dressing. The role also includes assisting with patient care activities like positioning, lifting, turning, applying special equipment, and ambulating patients, as well as performing general care activities for patients in isolation under supervision.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required.

Nice To Haves

Certified Nursing Assistant, preferred.
Previous orderly or nurse aide experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform routine treatment procedures as directed.
Assist Staff Nurse in complicated treatment procedures.
Maintain traction supplies including traction cart every shift.
Complete all equipment set up as directed.
Report any changes observed in condition or behavior of patient.
Communicate any patient complaints of pain to patient's nurse, charge nurse or unit coordinator.
Assist in and, as necessary, accompany patient in the admission, transfer and discharge procedures.
Provide and/or assists with personal care as necessary (i.e. baths, dressing of patients, personal hygiene, etc.).
Assist with patient care, such as positioning patient, lifting and turning patient with proper body mechanics, applying/utilizing special equipment as necessary and ambulating the patient as directed.
Under supervision, perform general care activities for patients in isolation.
