About The Position

Bryant & Stratton College is seeking a Nursing Program Director to supervise the daily operations of the BSN program at the Albany Market. This role focuses on meeting New York Office of Professions standards, CCNE standards, and achieving acceptable NCLEX pass rates, graduation rates, campus retention, and graduation goals. The Program Director will manage nursing program resources under the guidance of the Campus Director, ensuring a supportive environment for quality instruction. Responsibilities include monitoring academic records, ensuring adherence to college policies, and providing support for student success. The role also involves developing, implementing, and coordinating programs and services to support nursing instructors, managing nursing faculty, and actively participating in interdepartmental relations, clinical site agreements, and campus operations. The Program Director will also assist in curriculum development and ensure compliance with all relevant guidelines.

Requirements

  • Doctorate degree from an accredited institution with a Master’s Degree in Nursing.
  • Two years’ experience in a supervisor capacity in the academic arena, preferably as an educational nursing director.
  • Leadership and management skills including administration, advising, teaching, planning, prioritizing, problem-solving, scheduling, evaluating, delegating, and budgeting.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate and work with others in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Valid and unencumbered license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State.
  • Unofficial Transcripts must accompany applications.
  • Official transcripts must be delivered to the college before the start date.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the daily operations of the BSN program at the Albany Market.
  • Ensure compliance with New York Office of Professions standards, CCNE standards, and achieve acceptable NCLEX pass rates and graduation rates.
  • Manage nursing program resources under the guidance of the Campus Director.
  • Ensure a supportive environment for quality instruction and student success.
  • Monitor academic records and ensure adherence to college policies and procedures.
  • Develop, implement, and coordinate programs and services to support nursing instructors.
  • Manage nursing faculty.
  • Actively participate as a team member in the facilitation of interdepartmental relations.
  • Oversee clinical site agreements.
  • Support the dean and campus director in the operation, development, and profitability of the campus.
  • Assist with the development/management of the nursing program to achieve desired results and implement approved corrective action.
  • Oversee interviewing, hiring, and supervision of the nursing instructional, clinical, and support staff.
  • Actively mentor faculty members to enhance their teaching styles and support professional growth.
  • Coach and guide associates in carrying out their responsibilities and enhance inter-departmental relations.
  • Initiate and/or assist with policy/procedure development related to the nursing program.
  • Represent the nursing program as an official spokesperson within the community.
  • Collect and analyze classroom material to make recommendations for course consistency and effectiveness.
  • Assist the dean and campus director to identify new curricula, review/revise current curricula, catalogs, and nursing student handbook.
  • Ensure conformance with all system, state, and federal guidelines.
  • Support the college’s transfer of credits and articulation agreements.
  • Attend scheduled meetings.
  • Research new opportunities for instructor development.
  • Work with the academic team to achieve division goals for continuing students.
  • Work with deans and registrars to prepare the master schedule.
  • Provide timely updates and feedback.
  • Supervise registration of continuing nursing students.
  • Participate as a member of the Academic Management team.
  • Participate as an active member of the campus retention team and the transition team.
  • Manage academic reporting requirements for federal, state, accrediting commission and other interested parties.
  • Support the dean and registrar in evaluating transcripts for transferability of credit.
  • Utilize the Banner Registration and SRS systems.
  • Facilitate the use of ATI for student success in the NCLEX process.
  • Conduct regular classroom observations and communicate action plans to nursing instructors.
  • Interact with nursing faculty to identify training and development opportunities.
  • Develop and conduct in-service training.
  • Confer with nursing students concerning individual problems related to coursework, scheduling, attendance, grievances, progress, graduation, academic records, academic standing, and disciplinary concerns.
  • Handle inquiries and problematic situations.
  • Serve as a professional example to staff, students, and faculty.
  • Supervise advisement of students academically at risk.
  • Support college and student activities.
  • Encourage and motivate students to help them clarify personal and career goals.
  • Actively participate in and implement campus retention efforts.
  • Participate in all academic community opportunities.
