About The Position

This position will require frequent local travel to multiple Ambulatory Surgery Centers within AHN around the Pittsburgh area, as well as coverage of Grove City Hospital. The Nursing Professional Development Specialist is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the educational activities for the assigned area(s) and participating in meeting the educational needs for assigned area(s).

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Nursing or Education -OR- relevant experience and/or education as determined by the company in lieu of Master’s Degree in Nursing or Education
  • Current State of PA RN licensure OR Current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC)
  • 2 years of relevant clinical experience and 2 years of education/training experience
  • Compliance with ethical and legal standards and behavioral expectations as set forth in the code of business conduct and company policies.
  • Compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) as described in the Notice of Privacy Practices and Privacy Policies and Procedures.
  • Compliance with all data security guidelines established within the Company’s Handbook of Privacy Policies and Practices and Information Security Policy.
  • Compliance with the company’s Code of Business Conduct, including adherence to applicable federal and state laws, rules, and regulations as well as company policies and training requirements.

  • Procedural/PeriOp Nursing Experience highly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Plans, develops, implements and evaluates educational programs and utilizes methods, measurements and tools to evaluate achievement of learning goals.
  • Works in collaboration with leadership and staff to facilitate and implement quality and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Serves as an educational consultant for leadership and staff in areas of program development, clinical practice, regulatory compliance, professional development, and other assigned committee work.
  • Participates in the coordination and continuity of orientation programs.
  • Conducts and analyzes formal and informal learning needs with leadership and staff. Develops and implements annual competency and education plan(s).
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required, including direct patient care.
