The Nursing Procedure Coordinator manages and directs admissions to the hospital, assists with daily in-patient staffing activities, and schedules and coordinates nursing service personnel. This role involves maintaining staff scheduling data, educating new nursing leaders, calculating and submitting nursing time sheets to payroll, and monitoring payroll software entries. The coordinator also approves time cards and contributes to cost reduction efforts by assisting Directors in reviewing staffing levels based on patient census. Additionally, they schedule meetings, take minutes, provide general secretarial support, and maintain, update, and distribute nursing policies and procedures. They are responsible for scheduling and preparing course materials for educational programs, coordinating agency nursing contracts, scheduling, and reconciling payments. The role includes inputting data for statistical information and reports, maintaining confidentiality of personnel and patient information, and maintaining personnel files for nursing support staff. They also prepare, maintain, and distribute patient totes to units, update the MD call schedule, prepare and distribute calendars for conference rooms, and register and score personnel for the Mercy Learning Center.
