Ellison 9 Cardiac ICU is a patient and family centered 16 bed adult unit serving critically ill cardiac ICU patients. The most common diagnoses and/or interventions are: hemodynamic monitoring, intra-aortic balloon counter pulsation, ventricular assist devices, CVVH, hypothermia after cardiac arrest, recovery from coronary procedures, including percutaneous aortic and mitral valve replacement, recovery from acute myocardial infarction complicated by cardiogenic shock, arrhythmias, congestive heart failure, respiratory failure and/or multiple organ dysfunction/failure. A multi-disciplinary team approach is focused on the psychosocial and emotional support of the patients and their families. We work each day to achieve our vision: to provide excellent, quality care to patients and families that is supported by a highly skilled and compassionate team in the safest environment. Responsible for developing educational programs, clinical decision-making, management of quality outcomes, and participation in research activities. Provide patient care in the clinical environment, health promotion, disease prevention, health education, and patient and family counseling activities.
