About The Position

The Nursing Monitor Technician ensures continuous telemetry monitoring is established and documentation is maintained. This role is responsible for ensuring monitoring equipment is functioning correctly and that dysrhythmias or rhythm changes are communicated in a timely manner. The technician will maintain knowledge and skills related to dysrhythmia monitoring, participate in quality improvement projects, and support the provision of age/developmental appropriate care. Additionally, the role promotes efficient use of fiscal resources.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Successful completion of an approved dysrhythmia course during first week of hire and must pass dysrhythmia test during first week of orientation.
  • Knowledge of various dysrhythmias
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Basic computer skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Work requires walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, bending, stretching, stooping, pushing, and pulling.
  • Must be able to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds in handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies.
  • Must speak and understand English in good understandable terms.
  • Must have manual and finger dexterity.
  • Physical abilities testing required.
