About The Position

Three Trails Behavioral Hospital in the area of Independence, MO is actively hiring an experienced and compassionate Nurse Manager. This position is responsible for overseeing daily nursing operations, promoting exceptional patient care, supporting staff development, and ensuring compliance with all standards. The name Three Trails was selected to honor the historical significance of the city of Independence as the starting point for the Santa Fe, Oregon and California Trails. The logo icon is a compass, which is symbolic of wayfinding, and metaphorically the personal journey to recovery. The Groundbreaking for the new hospital was held in January 2025. Beam topping was held in July 2025. The facility is expected to open in the second half of 2026. Three Trails Behavioral Hospital will serve children and adolescents, adults and seniors with innovative and evidence-based inpatient behavioral healthcare focused on individual needs and comfort. It will create more than 200 new, full-time jobs including nurses, clinicians, therapists, technicians and administrative staff, when the facility is fully operational. The facility will be located at the intersection of I-70 and Little Blue Parkway, adjacent to the Children’s Mercy Hospital Outpatient Clinics. It will feature 120 licensed beds ready to meet the mental health needs of the surrounding community. The facility will span more than 88,000 square feet, and will include an activity yard and gym. Requirements

  • Current RN licensure in the state of Missouri (or eligible for licensure).
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) required.
  • Minimum of five years of behavioral health nursing experience preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day leadership and supervision of nursing staff.
  • Promote a culture of patient safety, quality care, and service excellence.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, state and federal regulations, and accreditation standards.
  • Assist with recruitment, onboarding, retention, and performance management of nursing personnel.
  • Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care.
  • Monitor staffing levels and support efficient resource utilization.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and performance enhancement activities.
  • Serve as a mentor and resource for nursing staff while supporting professional growth and development.
