About The Position

The Department of Economic Security (DES), Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD), is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Nursing Manager. DDD provides individuals with developmental disabilities, and their families, services and supports that are flexible, high-quality, and member-driven. These services provide individuals with opportunities to exercise their rights and responsibilities of independent decision-making and engagement in the community. Applicants for this position cannot be licensed or certified by the DDD Office of Licensing Certification and Regulation, cannot have a principal interest in or have a spouse or close family with principal interest in a DDD Qualified Vendor Agreement, and cannot be employed or subcontracted by a DDD Qualified Vendor. This position may offer the ability to work remotely, within Arizona, based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures. Across our many agencies, boards, and commissions, many State employees participate in the State’s Remote Work Program and are able to work remotely in their homes, in offices, and in hoteling spaces. Requirements

  • Principles of nursing administration and management

Responsibilities

  • Provides oversight of the QOC investigative process, including timeliness, assignment of cases to staff, adherence to confidentiality, and the protections of the QM investigative process. Tracks metrics and productivity. Identifies trends and develops process improvement actions. Conducts data analysis of QOCs to identify trends and areas for additional training and improvements within the provider network. Prepares associated reports of findings and improvement activities.
  • Makes clinical determinations for the purpose of issuing on-site visits to ensure member health and safety. Participates in on-site Health & Safety visits, Wellness checks, and desktop interviews as needed. Collaborates with the QM Medical Director and CMO regarding QOCs and resulting actions. Collaborates with other operational areas within DDD to address health and safety concerns.
  • Participates in Quality Management (QM) meetings and committees as required. Presents reports of findings and improvement activities. Engages in quality improvement discussions and strategies. Conducts audits of member Health & Safety visits, Wellness checks, desktop interviews, Status of Review, and other investigative documentation to evaluate staff compliance with timeliness, standard work, and policies.
  • Provides leadership, supervision, mentoring, and coaching of QMU clinical staff. Facilitates regular 1:1s, team huddles, and other communications. Completes Performance Appraisals. Authorizes leave. Approves time cards. Participates in meetings. In the absence of the QM Nursing Administrator, facilitate these meetings.
  • Participates in accreditation surveys, operational reviews, technical assistance, and focused studies/reviews to ensure compliance with contract and policy requirements. Ensures all work is completed in alignment with Division and AHCCCS policies to promote an "audit-ready" unit.
