About The Position

Join our team as a day shift, full-time, Swing Bed Unit Nursing Manager in Quitman, TX. UT Health Quitman offers 25 private rooms, a 24-hour Level IV trauma center and Level III stroke center, surgical suites, advanced diagnostics, swing bed care, cardiopulmonary rehab, on-site physician clinics, and a sleep lab. Lead a specialized Swing Bed program within a 25-bed inpatient unit, serving short-term skilled nursing and rehabilitation patients with an average census of 5-6 patients (up to 11-12 during peak periods). This role provides leadership for approximately 5-6 direct reports, including therapy and support staff, while overseeing daily operations, care coordination, and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

Graduation from an approved school of nursing and licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas
1 to 3 years of clinical experience
BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Responsibilities

Oversee and manage all referrals, admissions, Activity Program, and staff for patients admitted into Swing Bed Program.
Collaborate efficiently with patients, nursing personnel, therapy services, medical staff, administration, and the public.
Work closely with Case Management to coordinate appropriate admissions into program.
Be a key stakeholder in the Med/Surg multidisciplinary care team.
Demonstrate quality and effectiveness in work habits and clinical practice and treat patients, families, staff, and physicians with dignity and respect.
