Requirements

  • Registered Nurse with current Illinois license, BSN preferred
  • CPR certification, must obtain ACLS certification within 6 months of hire; PALS certification preferred
  • Neonatal resuscitation certification required.
  • Demonstrated organization and time management skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, customer service delivery skills
  • Excellent experience leading and facilitating a wide variety of diverse patient groups required
  • Ability to assess needs, identify problems, explore alternatives and implement solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and make decisions in accordance with hospital policy and governmental regulations.
  • Knowledge of basic computer operations and use of word processing software
  • Ability to use audio/visual equipment, telephone and other clinical equipment for patient teaching.
  • Completed preceptor training

Nice To Haves

  • PALS certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • You will facilitate involvement of staff in Performance Improvement activities.
  • You will assist with the development of unit budget. Ensure accurate and complete Patient Services.
  • You will collaborate with Nursing Unit Supervisor in resolving system problems.
  • You will interpret hospital and personnel policies to physicians, nursing staff, patients, visitors, and other health care providers.
  • You will provide input for interviewing and hiring of new employees.
  • You will approve unit schedules according to staff guidelines.
  • You will provide input for personnel performance appraisals including goals and objectives.
  • You will attend/conduct staff meetings on each shift to share and receive information.
  • You will provide follow up with physician and patient/family issues.
  • You will ensure compliance with nursing standards of care.
