Nursing Lab Assistant (CNA)
About The Position
IntelliTec Colleges is seeking a Part-Time Instructor for the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Program at its Pueblo, CO Campus. The ideal candidate will be a CNA with a strong healthcare background, a flexible schedule, and a passion for preparing Certified Nursing Assistants. The Lab Assistant will support instructors and the program supervisor in lab-based classroom activities, including curriculum review, answering student questions, maintaining the lab environment and equipment, and ensuring safety protocols. This role may also involve substituting for the instructor when necessary.
Requirements
- Associates degree or Certificate in Nursing or related field
- 3+ years (minimum 4,000 hours) experience in a healthcare-related field
- Unencumbered and active CNA license

Responsibilities
- Prepare for and review curriculum prior to class
- Assist instructors and/or program supervisor with grading, attendance, and classroom management as needed
- Answer all student questions as they arise to ensure student understanding and completion of material
- Ensure students are aware of safety policies and monitor for correct procedures
- Maintain professionalism within the classroom and coach students on their professionalism
- Assist with the management of all classroom activity within the lab setting for various classrooms
- Attend weekly and annual trainings to maintain currency in the field and continual improvement of personal teaching strategies
- Set up lab area for daily instructional activities including equipment setup as needed
- Develop and implement automotive repair issues within training vehicles to assist students with diagnosis as related to approved curriculum
- Assist in the maintenance of quality equipment and tools for program use
- Inspect student workstations and toolboxes (if applicable) at the end of each class session
- Serve as substitute instructor on an as-needed basis
- Assist with all program needs, including maintenance of tools, equipment, and work areas
- Ensure waivers are completed and on file for any lab work that requires it
- Recognize need for and initiate student support plans, warning, and tutoring as needed
- Work closely with the Program Supervisor to manage student issues that could potentially lead to low retention rates
- Advise students on issues affecting their education and provide guidance as needed
- Other duties as assigned
