About The Position
This position is designed for individuals currently enrolled in a nursing program seeking hands-on hospital experience to enhance their resumes. It offers flexible scheduling with minimal shift requirements to accommodate student schedules. Saint Luke’s North on Barry Road is looking for a Nursing Intern to join their team. This is an entry-level role with on-the-job training for applicants who have completed the foundational parts of their nursing program. It is also suitable for experienced Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) seeking a supportive work environment. The intern will contribute to improving hospital throughput and capacity, and enhancing the patient experience by floating between departments as needed, based on staffing and patient care requirements. The goal is to help achieve the vision of being, “The Best Place to Get Care. The Best Place to Give Care”.
Requirements
- Less than 1 year of applicable experience
- Basic Life Support RQI - Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI)
- Nursing Student - Various
Nice To Haves
- Completed the fundamental portion of their nursing program
- Experienced Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
Responsibilities
- Provides patient care under the direction and supervision of an RN.
- Provides assistance with activities of daily living and care, such as bathing, personal hygiene, elimination and toileting, nutrition, feeding, hydration, ambulation and positioning.
- Anticipates the patient’s family needs in a proactive fashion.
- Individualizes and modifies care according to the patient’s needs.
- Collaborates with other health care team members to enhance the provision of patient care.
