Nursing Intern, CVRU
About The Position
Saint Luke's East Hospital in Lee’s Summit, MO is seeking a Nursing Intern to join our Cardiovascular Recovery Unit (CVRU). This opportunity is for students currently enrolled in an accredited RN program who have completed a Fundamentals of Nursing or Med Surg course. The intern will provide care to inpatients and outpatients post Cath and EP Lab procedures, as well as for other cardiac diagnoses, conditions, and treatment plans. The unit also specializes in the care of stepdown patients, particularly those with acute respiratory needs. This is a fast-paced progressive care unit specializing in cardiac and acute respiratory patient care.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in an accredited RN program
- Completed a Fundamentals of Nursing or Med Surg course
- Expected graduation date in 2027/2028
- Less than 1 year of applicable experience
- Basic Life Support - American Heart Association or Red Cross
- Nursing Student - Various
Responsibilities
- Performs clinical procedures and provides patient care for assigned patients under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse
- Performs direct and indirect patient care activities
- Provides support to other health care team members
- May perform technical tasks per unit competency validation
- Nursing Interns are restricted from performing any licensed tasks
