About The Position

Saint Luke’s Hospital of Kansas City is seeking a Nursing Intern for their Renal Transplant Unit. This location is a Magnet designated facility and a leader in Academic Medical Centers. This unit provides care to medical short stay high acuity patients in a fast-paced environment. As a nursing intern on this team, you can care for a variety of conditions and treatments including, but are not limited to; renal, confusion, non-surgical, heart failure, observation and more. This position is PRN. This is a year round position.

Requirements

• Be enrolled in a formal nursing school
• Have a certified nursing assistant certificate
• Successfully completed SLHS NA internal training program
• Completed their fundamentals of care course in nursing school.
• Less than 1 year Applicable Experience
• Basic Life Support - American Heart Association or Red Cross
• Nursing Student

• Nursing Interns are restricted from performing any licensed tasks

Responsibilities

• Performs clinical procedures and provides patient care for assigned patients under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse.
• Performs direct and indirect patient care activities.
• Provides support to other health care team members.
• May perform technical tasks per unit competency validation.
