About The Position

Moraine Park Technical College is seeking a full-time Nursing Faculty member based at the Beaver Dam campus to provide clinical instruction at healthcare sites throughout the MPTC district. This position is responsible for the multiple modality delivery of instruction and facilitation of student learning and providing ongoing development of curriculum, assessment, and learning strategies to meet college academic and workforce needs. In addition, this position will provide regular student support and contact, or refer to the appropriate department, to meet the learner’s classroom and career goals. The successful candidate will have a master’s degree in Nursing, or must expect to graduate from a Master’s Degree in Nursing program within one year and two years (4,000 hours) of paid work experience related to the program(s) being taught, including one year (2,000 hours) of related paid work experience that has been acquired within the past five years. In lieu of this one year of recent experience, two years of post-secondary teaching experience in the appropriate occupational field within the past five years may be considered. (Two years of post-secondary teaching experience means eight semesters of part-time teaching or four semesters of full-time teaching at an accredited institution.) We will accept applications until the position is filled; however, applicants who apply by May 13, 2026 will be considered in our first review of applicants. This position is currently funded through June 2028 by the Forward Careers Next grant. Continued funding beyond that date may be provided by the College, depending on student enrollment levels. Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Nursing, or must expect to graduate from a Master’s Degree in Nursing program within one year.
  • Two years (4,000 hours) of paid work experience related to the program(s) being taught, including one year (2,000 hours) of related paid work experience that has been acquired within the past five years.
  • In lieu of one year of recent experience, two years of post-secondary teaching experience in the appropriate occupational field within the past five years may be considered.
  • Unencumbered State of Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Must be in good standing with clinical placements.
  • Experience with nursing assessment of the health status of the patient.
  • Experience developing a nursing plan of care for the patient which includes goals and priorities derived from the nursing diagnosis.
  • Experience with evaluation of nursing care.
  • Experience directly administering nursing care or directing and supervising Registered Nurses and Licensed Practical Nurses, Nursing Assistants, and unlicensed patient caregivers in giving care.
  • Upon hire, must maintain and/or obtain Higher Learning Commission, Faculty Quality Assurance System, and other agency requirements and licensure required to maintain individual and program accreditation, if applicable.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations by promoting and maintaining an inclusive work environment and culture that is respectful and accepting of diversity.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare for and facilitate learning in the assigned courses according to the College’s core values.

  • Meet student learning needs by incorporating a variety of teaching methods and assessments.
  • Maintain student confidentiality, records, and documentation as required by Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
  • Submit grades within the expected timeframe.
  • Provide timely verbal and written feedback to the students to ensure continued growth and development.
  • Participate in the development, implementation, evaluation, and updating of curriculum.
  • Assist with student recruitment and proactively promote the College programs and services offered.
  • Promote retention and student success through the utilization of referrals to College services and resources.
  • Engage in internal and external College meetings and activities.
  • Build and maintain ongoing relationships with K-12, Department of Corrections (DOC), community, and industry partners beyond the classroom.
  • Actively maintain proficient knowledge and skills in emerging trends and current occupational practices.
  • Complete annual professional development activities in areas of Faculty Quality Assurance Standards (FQAS) competencies.
  • Complete all required training.
  • Assist with mentoring faculty.
  • Maintain equipment and supplies for the classroom and labs, as necessary to support the assigned program area and future trends in industry.
  • Work with the supervisor to identify alternative funding sources, as needed.
