About The Position

Bibb Medical Center is seeking an experienced and motivated Nursing Home Business Office Director to oversee the daily financial and administrative operations of our skilled nursing facility. This leadership role is responsible for managing the revenue cycle, resident billing, collections, Medicaid and Medicare processing, financial reporting, and business office staff while ensuring compliance with all federal and state regulations. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities, exceptional organizational skills, and extensive knowledge of long-term care billing and reimbursement practices.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3–5 years of healthcare business office or revenue cycle experience
  • Previous supervisory or management experience required
  • Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, managed care, and private insurance billing
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and healthcare billing software
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills

Nice To Haves

  • Long-term care or skilled nursing facility experience
  • Experience with MatrixCare or similar long-term care software
  • Knowledge of Alabama Medicaid regulations and reimbursement processes

Responsibilities

  • Direct and oversee all business office functions for the nursing home
  • Manage resident billing, collections, and accounts receivable processes
  • Ensure accurate and timely billing for Medicare, Medicaid, insurance, and private pay accounts
  • Monitor and follow up on outstanding claims and denials
  • Maintain compliance with CMS, HIPAA, Medicare, Medicaid, and state regulations
  • Prepare monthly financial reports, census reports, and revenue analysis
  • Supervise, train, and evaluate business office personnel
  • Coordinate resident trust accounts and cash management procedures
  • Work collaboratively with nursing home administration, finance, admissions, and clinical departments
  • Assist residents and families with billing questions, insurance concerns, and payment arrangements
  • Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
  • Participate in audits and ensure corrective action plans are implemented when necessary
  • Develop and maintain departmental policies and procedures
  • Promote excellent customer service and professionalism within the department
