About The Position

Northern Essex Community College (NECC) is seeking a Full-Time Nursing Faculty member to join their Nursing Department within the Division of Health Professions. This is a tenure-track, MCCC/MTA Unit Faculty Position based on funding, with a 37.5 hours/week commitment. The position is located on the Lawrence Campus at 414 Common Street. NECC serves approximately 5,000 credit students across two campuses in the Merrimack Valley region of Massachusetts. The college is committed to fostering a culture of initiative, innovation, and evidence-based decision-making, with a strong emphasis on diversity and student success. Requirements

  • An earned Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited college/university.
  • Minimum of 2 years of full-time employment in nursing within the past 5 years.
  • Evidence of clinical competence in Medical Surgical Nursing.
  • Current Massachusetts Registered Nurse license in good standing.
  • BLS Health Provider Level certification from AHA.
  • Successful experience interacting with culturally diverse populations.
  • Ability to work and collaborate in a team-teaching environment.
  • Candidate may be required to clear a 10-panel urine drug screen per clinical placement policy as a condition of employment.
  • Candidates will be required to pass a CORI and SORI check as a condition of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Highly experienced and skilled in undergraduate nursing curriculum and course development.
  • Experience in simulation development, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Knowledge of ACEN accreditation standards and criteria; MA BORN Regulations for nursing programs.
  • Face to Face, online, hybrid and/or videoconferencing teaching experience.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English).

Responsibilities

  • Teach didactic lectures in various nursing specialties (Maternal/Child health, Pediatrics, Psych, Medical Surgical nursing), Skills Lab, and Pharmacology in the classroom, clinical setting, and clinical simulation laboratory.
  • Participate in curriculum development, program accreditation, student evaluation, computerized test development, student advising, and college committees.
  • Be available to teach in the clinical setting.
  • Evaluate student performance in both classroom and clinical settings.
  • Utilize diverse teaching strategies to foster critical thinking.
  • Develop instructional materials aligned with course objectives.
  • Maintain expertise and currency in nursing and teaching responsibilities.
  • Participate in College service activities.
  • Comply with the duties outlined in the Massachusetts Community College Council Collective Bargaining Agreement.
