Requirements

  • An earned Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited college/university
  • Minimum 2 years of full-time employment in nursing within the past 5 years
  • Evidence of clinical competence in area(s) of Medical Surgical Nursing
  • Current Massachusetts Registered Nurse license in good standing
  • BLS Health Provider Level certification from AHA
  • Successful experience interacting with culturally diverse populations
  • Ability to work and collaborate in a team-teaching environment
  • Candidate may be required to clear a 10-panel urine drug screen per clinical placement policy as a condition of employment.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.
  • Successful completion and review of a background check which will include CORI (Criminal Offender Record Information) and SORI (Sex Offender Registry Information).

Nice To Haves

  • Highly experienced and skilled in undergraduate nursing curriculum and course development.
  • Experience in simulation development, implementation, and evaluation would be a plus.
  • Knowledge of ACEN accreditation standards and criteria; MA BORN Regulations for nursing programs.
  • Face to Face, online, hybrid and or videoconferencing teaching experience.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English)

Responsibilities

  • Teach didactic lectures in any specialty such as Maternal/ Child health, Pediatrics, Psych, or Medical Surgical nursing, Skills Lab, and Pharmacology, in the classroom, clinical setting and clinical simulation laboratory.
  • Participate in curriculum development, program accreditation, evaluation of students, computerized test development, student advising, program and college committees.
  • Availability to teach in the clinical setting.
  • Evaluate student performance in the classroom and clinical setting.
  • Utilize a variety of appropriate teaching strategies to promote students' critical thinking.
  • Develop instructional material consistent with course objectives.
  • Maintain expertise and currency in the area of nursing and teaching responsibility.
  • Participate in College service activities.
  • Comply with the duties as stipulated in the Massachusetts Community College Council Collective Bargaining Agreement.
