About The Position

Grand Canyon University (GCU) is seeking a full-time Faculty Member for Lab/Clinical - Obstetrics for its Accelerated BSN Program in Albuquerque. As a faculty member, you will provide program instruction using innovative teaching methodologies and technologies relevant to the discipline. GCU is an institutionally accredited, private, nondenominational Christian University. We are particularly interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity of our academic community. The position is located at 6200 Jefferson St. NE, Albuquerque.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN) required.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ recent work experience in OB, Women's Health, Labor and Delivery nursing.
  • An active, current, and unencumbered Registered Nurse license in the state of New Mexico or a compact state.
  • Must successfully pass a drug test.
  • Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior teaching experience at the collegiate level preferred.
  • Evidence of involvement in one’s professional area (e.g., membership in professional organizations, presentations, research, and/or publications).

Responsibilities

  • Reinforce didactic content and teach in the context of clinical and lab application of knowledge and skills related to pre-licensure Nursing.
  • Collaborate with content area faculty to provide expert evaluation and documentation of student progress toward clinical and lab objectives.
  • Participate in grading written and Clinical/Lab performance check-offs.
  • Maintain communication with program faculty and director, including attendance at select faculty meetings.
  • Stay current with new trends and developments in the specific field of nursing practice.
  • Maintain compliance with requirements for program accreditation.
  • Uphold the tenets of nursing as a holistic profession and the pillars of the University.
  • Travel to student clinical sites in the greater Albuquerque area to directly observe student performance.
