This position is for a Department administrator who establishes and enforces policies, procedures, standards, and objectives. The Director directs and supervises staff and workflow, and holds budgetary or fiscal accountability. The role requires being responsible 24 hours a day for the ongoing effective operation of the assigned Nursing department, exerting a leadership role that supports the hospital’s mission, vision, goals, and objectives, while focusing on patients, physicians, employees, volunteers, and the community as customers. There is ongoing accountability for the continuous assessment, improvement, coordination, and integration of department services and standards of care into the hospital’s primary function. The position is also responsible for approving timekeeping, employee evaluation, meeting applicable regulatory standards, approving supply orders, and department strategic planning.
